The
RADP-10
December 2005
Meet Listings

Welcome to the meet page for RADP-10! Our tenth annual meet coincides with Disneyland's 50th anniversary and the Happiest Celebration On Earth that is taking place at all the Disney Parks worldwide. So we are inviting you to join us at our Happiest Meet On Earth!

If you are new to RADP, you may be asking yourself, "What is a RADP?" RADP stands for rec.arts.disney.parks -- a Disney parks enthusiast newsgroup where folks all around the world share tips, stories and general information regarding the Disney park experience. We get together once a year to put a face to that poster/friend we met on newsgroup. New and renewed acquaintances abound every year.

The first RADP meet occurred in December 1996 with about 20 folks (mostly from the Orlando area) and now this has grown to include more than 300 of our newsgroup friends and family from all over the world! Folks come as far away as the United Kingdom, Norway, Japan, Canada, and as close as San Francisco, New Orleans, Chicago, Kansas City, New Hampshire and Tampa. There is no membership requirement. Unless noted, all of our events are free and open to Disney fans of all ages! Everyone is most welcome to attend our events.

Come and join us for a single event, a whole day or the entire time. We all share the common bond of a love of Disney. Come meet the friends you already have but don't know yet. The 2005 meets will run from Friday, December 2nd to Monday, December 5th - rain or shine.

RADP is an independent group of Disney fans. RADP has no official connection with any commercial enterprise or entity nor does it endorse any. RADP is not affiliated with, authorized or endorsed by, or in any way officially connected with The Walt Disney Company, Disney Enterprises, Inc., or any of their affiliates.

Host a Meet!
If you would like to host a RADP meet, we would love to add you to the schedule. No experience is necessary. Most meets will practically run themselves. You can opt to host any meet you see on the schedule that doesn't already have a host or you can come up with your very own idea for a meet. There are many rides and attractions at Walt Disney World and our schedule only touches on a small handful. If we don't have a meet at your favorite place, then host one and we'll add it to our schedule. Many of our RADP friends will attend it as well. It's a great way to get to meet lots of fellow RADPers.

If you have any questions about a particular scheduled meet, please feel free to email the meet host directly.

Get You Own RADP Pin!
RADP pins look exactly like the red circle logo at the right. The only difference is you can have your name added to the bottom of the pin if you would like. Pins cost $3 shipped and can be ordered from http://hometown.aol.com/radpinlady/ Please allow at least 3 weeks when ordering.

Schedule of Meet Events

Please Note: All meet times are subject to change for many reasons including Disney's changing of park hours and show times. During the early meet planning stages, meet listings can be very fluid. Times, dates and even locations can change often. Keep checking back for the latest information! "Official Days" are only to make it easier for folks who are using day passes and not meant to be in any way associated with Disney or its early entry policies.

This listing includes all RADP meets currently scheduled. All meets listed are open to everyone. Some meets do have limits on how many can participate and some require advance reservations and/or payment. These are specified in the meet description of the individual event. For all other meets, just show up at the appointed time and location and join in the fun!

Please note that on occasion, our meets might run a little behind timewise. We will never start a meet early but we may be running a little late on a meet now and then. If you don't see us at the appointed time, have faith. We will be along shortly.

10th Annual RADP Big Meet and Greet
11:30am at Epcot's International Gateway entrance
Meet up with your favorite RADP friends or make some brand new ones. This informal setting allows everyone a chance to mingle with the people whose words you read everyday on RADP. Come by for a few minutes or stay for a few hours. The choice is yours. And you can be part of our annual RADP photo, too! The RADP photographer will be taking photos from 11:30 AM to 12:00 Noon only. If you wish to be in the 2005 Big Meet Photo like the one below, please arrive during that time. Park admission is not required for this meet.

Note to anyone looking for last year's Big Meet Group Photo: Unfortunately, our photos that were taken last year got burned to a bad CD Rom and the originals on the media cards got deleted before it was discovered. So we have no official Big Meet Group Photo from RADP-9. Sorry.

How to get to the Int'l Gateway:

Already in Epcot? Go the the Int'l Gateway area in World Showcase between the U.K. and France. Exit the turnstyles and we'll be in that general location.

At the Disney Studios? Take the boat to the Epcot resorts and get off at Epcot (will be the 4th stop).

Coming from other locations? Your best bet is to take a Disney bus to the Studios and then get on the boat for the Epcot resorts. If you have a Park Hopper and can walk through Epcot, you can take a monorail to Epcot and then walk to the Int'l Gateway area.

Join hosts Pamela (smeeeko) and Sean (yoda) Rouse as we wander Epcot World Showcase to experience the holidays as celebrated in all 11 of World Showcase's pavillions. This meet will likely take up the entire afternoon, so it will include a stop for lunch at one of the quick service dining locations. As the meet date approaches, and we obtain a schedule of the holiday storytellings, we will determine our tour stop schedule. If you are interested in attending this meet (or at least a portion of it), and would like an update when we receive the storytelling schedule, please e-mail Sean
