This year, the fun of RADP Meets returns in December with RADP XIII, coinciding with Mousefest and various holiday activities at Walt Disney World.
If you are new to RADP, you may be asking yourself, "What is a RADP?" RADP stands for rec.arts.disney.parks -- a Disney parks enthusiast newsgroup where folks all around the world share tips, stories and general information regarding the Disney park experience. We get together once a year to put a face to that poster/friend we met on newsgroup. New and renewed acquaintances abound every year.
There is no membership requirement. All of our events are free (although park admission may be required) and open to Disney fans of all ages! Everyone is most welcome to attend our events. Come and join us for a single event, a whole day or the entire time. No RSVP is required, so feel free to just show up and have some fun! We all share the common bond of a love of Disney. Come meet the friends you already have but don't know yet. The 2008 meets will run from Friday, December 12th to Monday, December 15th - rain or shine.
RADP is an independent group of Disney fans. RADP has no official connection with any commercial enterprise or entity nor does it endorse any. RADP is not affiliated with, authorized or endorsed by, or in any way officially connected with The Walt Disney Company, Disney Enterprises, Inc., or any of their affiliates.
And a reminder - RADP is RSVP free! RSVPs are never required for RADP meets! (OK, for logistical reasons, we have one exception this year!)

After grabbing a Fastpass for Kilimanjaro Safari or Expedition Everest, make your way to Dinoland and meet us near the Triceratops Spin entrance. We'll take a whimsical flight aboard a dinosaur, then head back in time aboard a...what? A time machine!

Say Cheese with the Big Cheese

Come one, come all! This is where it all started! RADP is pleased to invite everyone to the 13th Annual RADP Big Meet and Greet! We will all be meeting just outside the gate at the International Gateway, between the UK and France pavilions in Epcot. When you see a large group of crazy folks congregating near the Friendship boat docks, that's us! The meet will last until everyone decides to leave...which usually takes at least an hour! Park admission is NOT required for this meet.

After a busy morning of scrambling from meet to meet, RADP is taking some time to celebrate some of the most often overlooked Epcot attractions. Starting at 7:30pm, we'll assemble to watch the too-often overlooked movie in Norway, followed by some snack time in the Kringla Bakeria og Cafe. After our munchies, we will go to the China pavilion and watch the awe-inspiring Reflections of China movie. All the fun begins when we assemble outside the Stave Church in the Norway pavilion at 7:30.

Start the day with some really good chow and a good laugh with your RADP pals. Trails End is located in the Ft. Wilderness Campground next to Pioneer Hall. Everyone pays their own way for this all-you-care-to-eat meal as we linger leisurely before heading over to the Magic Kingdom for the Splash and Big Thunder Mountain meets. 12th Annual Splash and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad meet

For the 12th year in a row, RADP will launch a full-scale takeover of both Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Before arriving, please make sure to pick up a Fastpass for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Then at 10:30, we'll board Splash Mountain en masse, and once we're nice and wet, we'll take a ride on Big Thunder for a spin dry! This is traditionally a very popular meet, and would be a great chance for newcomers to meet the RADP family!

There's a great big beautiful RADP meet shining at the end of Tomorrowland! At 3:30, we will take a leisurely ride through the life of an American family in this Walt Disney original ride. After the ride, we will all take a stroll down the pathway to Mickey's Toontown Fair and take a group photo with Walt's main mouse, Mickey Mouse.

Disney's Electrical Water Pageant meet and Randy Berbaum Memorial

After the campfire, join us on the beach at the Fort Wilderness Marina for the 9:45pm presentation of Disney's spectacular Electrical Water Pageant. Treat yourself to this fantastic moving light show that takes place on the waters of Bay Lake. Immediately following the Water Pageant this year is a very special event that many RADPers will hold dear to their hearts. Last May, our good friend and proud Disney Geek extraordinaire Randy Berbaum passed away. This is the first year his many friends will have met at Disney World since he left us. We will be taking a few minutes to share our remembrances of a man who was a friend to all. Whether you participate in offering a remembrance or just wish to be there to hear some stories - some funny, some poignant - about this special Disney spirit, all are welcome.

Finally, we'll end up back at Rock N' Roller Coaster for a 0-60 thrill ride through the Hollywood hills! I bet we're gonna need a super stretch!

RADP welcomes the newest member of the Disney's Hollywood Studios attraction lineup with our first ever Toy Story Mania meet! Be prepared for a little friendly competition as we try to figure out who has the steadiest hand in the toy box! Due to the popularity of this attraction, Fastpasses are required in order to ride during this meet. If you plan on attending, please pick up a Fastpass earlier in the day, and ensure that your return time is 4:30pm or earlier.
Winter Summerland Minigolf meet

What's more fun than a game of mini golf? How about a game of mini golf played with all your favorite RADP friends? Everyone welcome to tag along just by meeting us at 8:30 at the Winter Summerland mini golf course, which is located near the entrance of Blizzard Beach. Golfing skill is NOT required to have a great time at this miniature golfing adventure meet!
Host a Meet!
If you would like to host a RADP meet, we would love to add you to the schedule. No experience is necessary. Most meets will practically run themselves. You can opt to host any meet you see on the schedule that doesn't already have a host or you can come up with your very own idea for a meet. There are many rides and attractions at Walt Disney World and our schedule only touches on a small handful. If we don't have a meet at your favorite place, then host one and we'll add it to our schedule. Many of our RADP friends will attend it as well. Just send the relevant info to holidaymeet07@radp.org. It's a great way to get to meet lots of fellow RADPers.

RADP pins look exactly like the red circle logo at the right. The only difference is you can have your name added to the bottom of the pin if you would like. Pins cost $3 shipped and can be ordered from Leslie Jones, PO Box 770844, Coral Springs, FL 33077-0844
